I am super stressing about my RoR project for class! I am trying to get my brochure put together and my presentation items. And I feel like I am running in a circle that I am not sure of!

Super Bowl Sunday!!!!!

I don't have anything else to say actually. Just that it's

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!!!

What was I thinking?

This semester I am coaching two sports- boys bball and girls tennis. And did I mention I am taking two masters courses?

Well yesterday was my first day of both sports. So this is how my day went:
8:15-4 be at school
4-5:30 tennis
5:30-5:45 waiting for kids to be picked up
5:45 drive to bball
6-7:45 bball
Homework til 10:30.

And I have until valentines day with this schedule. Holy moly!

One thing gone...

Last night was the district Teacher of the Year dinner. I did not win at the district level! And of course everyone kept going, "You were robbed!" Eh. I don't feel robbed! If you win at district you have to do more paperwork and traveling for states. And get this... You have to do some of it in.... June and July! Um what???? June and July? You know what I'm doing in June and july? Taking another road trip. I'm good thanks! It felt like a close call to me in which I got the better end of the deal!!! Lol and my school gave me an iPad for the classroom. So I definitely don't feel robbed for those who were worried! Lol

Picture below is me and my other half who was also a teacher. He was also a finalist at the school level against me! He came in second at the school level. I told him we are going to be a dynasty both as nominees at school, me winning at school and we coach our JV and Varsity boys bball teams at school. Of course I laughed at this and you know men. He just went sure dear and kept eating his dinner. :)

Busy day...

Today was the day when you are like what???

I just had my teacher of the year interview last night and they asked:
"what is the most difficult part of your job?"

My response: time. Thn I said fire drills and blah blah.

Guess what we had today a surprise fire drill!! Lol

We also had a first boys basketball game tonight-- I coach JV. It was rough. But it's ok. It's game one and we will get better!

Text complexity

Today, we had to take a training on text complexity. They showed us a great way to break apart a text by reading the same text three days in a row. I am excited for it. I do hope our new rdg textbooks next year lends itself to doing this. The treasures set has you reading three stories a week, which means you rush through each one. I can't stand it.
So for now I'm hoping to tie a lesson like this into a read aloud chapter from a book we read as a class!

Welcome to my crazy life!

Come one, come all to the crazy semester of Dana Natale! For those who don't know, I am a HUGE overacheiver. I tend to take on a ton of projects and then look back and go what?!?!?!? This semester I have chosen to coach two sports (three week overlap) and start my masters! But no sweat! I was going to have a full time intern. It was going to be exciting.... Well then my intern informed me she doesn't start until the second part of the semester! However, my students are absolutely awesome and day after day we have a blast.

So when we were asked to make a blog, I got super excited! I love blogging. I blogged my whole entire summer travels and enjoyed it so much!

However, this blog will be more educationally relevant! I am going to use this blog to post lessons that I love and have done in my class. Also, I am going to post read aloud books that I find to be super helpful in my class! I hope you all enjoy reading this and please post to let me know if you have suggestions for my lessons!! :)
